I HAVE just received a Conservative Party circular headed "Action for Gloucester", in which the Tory parliamentary candidate seeks to blame the Labour Government for the closure of C& G branches and the consequent loss of local jobs.

It seems odd to me that someone who is a director of a well- known banking investment company should try to transfer the blame for a financial crisis which, as we all know, was entirely the fault of greedy and unscrupulous bankers.
