The Shed will stay, it's an institution - Ryan Ken Nottage: What are your thoughts on Nick Wood and Luke Narraway's exclusion from everything England? Bryan Redpath: For Naz it is pretty difficult. I think with pulling out the Saxons squad and damaging his back which potentially could lead to an operation very shortly - it would potentially rule him out of contention for that slot anyway. I think he has been unfortunate, he has knuckled down this year and has got himself into good shape and turned out to be a good leader for the squad. He's realised his responsibility within the side first and foremost with his performances. You can't lead if you are going to be one of the poorer performers every week and he has started to get that right without some of the flash things he has done in the past. He has done enough this year to prove he is capable of playing for England again and I think with his injury, he is giving England an easy excuse not to include him.
Waldron still has to prove his worth whereas Naz has proved his worth on a couple of occasions a few years ago in New Zealand and also last season by consistent performances for the Saxons against the Barbarians. He has to keep proving the points and if he has to do that for one more season to justify a slot then all we can hope is he does it in a Gloucester strip and not get bogged THE great and the good of Gloucester Rugby faced the fans on Wednesday night for the annual fans' forum. In the first of two parts of the full transcript from the night, owner Ryan Walkinshaw, Chairman David McKnight, head coach Bryan Redpath and his assistant Carl Hogg face the Cherry and Whites' faithful. down by what England choose to do or not to do. Carl Hogg: I think with Woody, he is no doubt an outstanding scrummager. Carl Hayman up at Newcastle Falcons said Woody was without doubt the best scrummaging loose head in the Premiership which is a huge accolade from someone of his stature in the game. England have got a perception that Woody does not do enough outside set piece and scrum. The nature of the English set- up is they are Leicester based, a lot of their forward intellect with Johnson, Wells and Rowntree is the Leicester way and they will start a front five on the amount of rucks they hit. Now the way we move as a side we don't necessarily want Woody to hit every second ruck, we want Woody to make smart decisions with the way we play, we play with more width than Leicester and Northampton. It is not a case of Dan Cole hitting 25 rucks in a game and Nick Wood only hitting 11. If Nick Wood hit 11 and made right decisions then that is right for your system and right for us.See the full content of this document

England perceive he does not do enough work outside set piece and I think, if I'm honest, they have made a judgment call on Woody and they are looking for the next young kid, whether it is a Matt Mullan up at Worcester, to go on that ladder. Woody has missed out through a perception, he is very unlucky on that because he is a very very good scrummager. Yes, we want him to be a little bit more aggressive, a little bit more edgy around the park, but he is doing what we want him to and that is all a player can do. If England or other people don't merit the benefits of that then that is their issue. KN: Is there enough strength in next year's squad to cope with...
