AS thousands of racegoers flock to the Cheltenham Festival this week, a local company is helping to ensure that visitors can keep in touch on their mobile phones. The influx has always put pressure on transport and services but the increasing reliance on mobile communication has presented a new challenge for organisers.
Mobile signal capacity needed to be dramatically boosted, to maintain services for those living and working in the area and to offer visitors the capacity to call, text or send videos. Cheltenham- based Horsebridge Network Systems was brought in to dramatically increase signal capacity. A expert explained: "A mobile signal receiver is like a cup. It only has a certain capacity and then it starts to overflow. By adding the radio system it basically adds another cup to pick up the overflow."See the full content of this document
