Teachers at schools in Gloucestershire took nearly 20,000 days off sick in 2007.

The figures, released by Gloucestershire County Council, show that out of 5,676 teachers, nearly half took at least one sick day, equating to 19,347 days off, or an average of 3.3 days per teacher.
