Summary
REGARDING the proposed move of Shopmobility in Eastgate Market, I would like to make a few observations, as the council or whoever has made the decision has not looked at it from a disabled point of view.
Firstly, has the council thought about how people will get to and from their cars as the lifts are frequently breaking down and the car park is over 40 metres away? As for when it's busy, have any of you been to the shopping mall and experienced what it is like for disabled people to go in and out of the lift in a wheelchair or scooter? I suggest you try it for yourselves. It is very difficult for mums, parents, grandparents with buggies and for us it is almost impossible. And we have to endure abuse by young and old who should know better.See the full content of this document
