THE Sunday before last, July 7, was a busy day for me. I wrote last week (inadvertently published this Monday), about the retirement party for Mary Wrenn at the Community School but I was also privileged to attend the 10th anniversary of the opening of Kathleen House.
Some 10 years and a bit ago, my face appeared under a hard hat, together with local worthies and the then MP, Ms Diana Organ. Ms Organ had been invited to lift the first sod. I am particularly distinguished amongst those pictured, not alas, for the elegance of my dress nor for my beautiful features but simply because I was the only one for whom a correctly-sized hard hat could not be found.
