SIR DAVID McMurtry, chairman and chief executive of engineering company Renishaw plc, has been honoured with an international award. The founder of the Wotton-under-Edge metrology company has been given the prestigious General Pierre Nicolau Award by the International Academy for Production Engineering (CIRP). The award was presented to Sir David at the Academy's annual assembly in Pisa, Italy.
It is given each year to individuals who have made significant and distinguished contributions within the field of production engineering. The presentation, which honours CIRP founder General Pierre Nicolau, was made by its President, Professor Gerry Byrne.
