Summary


THE last time we visited The Edgemoor Inn, it was impossible to take advantage of the establishment's most celebrated feature, but on this occasion fortune smiled on us and the view was clear, right across the valley.

Perched on a hillside in the very aptly named Edge, half way between Gloucester and Stroud, the late 19th century Edgemoor Inn has picture-style windows that make the most of stunningly beautiful panoramic views of Painswick and its surrounding countryside. Unfortunately for us, we weren't the only ones wishing to enjoy a meal in unique surroundings and we found the restaurant to be fully booked. However, we were offered a place in the bar area, which is very comfortable and still offers the aforementioned panoramic view from most of its tables.
