Summary
CHIQUITO The Brewery, Cheltenham I'LL admit it from the start - we were actually heading elsewhere but made a last-minute detour to Chiquito and were glad we did. At first my eight-year-old son - who is a creature of almost obsessive habit - was not at all happy about this change of plan. He wanted to go to our regular lunch venue but it was heaving and we were too hungry to hang around waiting for a table. So my husband and I made the brave decision to take them somewhere new and, amid a lot of moaning, we made our way to a table in Chiquito at The Brewery.
First impressions were good. Groovy, South American music was playing in the background and helium-filled balloons went down a storm with the kids, particularly after they realised they could make their voices sound weirdly high-pitched. "We should just ask them if we can borrow the helium tank," 11-year-old daughter piped up. The restaurant was buzzing with lots of families - if you want a quiet meal a deux don't make Chiquito your first port of call. If you're after a fun family meal that doesn't tax your pocket too much, this is your place. They provide you with a complimentary bowl of tortilla chips and tomato salsa to eat while you're waiting and this was delicious, with strong coriander flavours and a real kick. Things got better when my son realised the menu included hot dogs with fries, plus a soft drink and a dessert, all for Pounds 4.99.See the full content of this document
