Pubs' Woes - a Sign of the Times

Summary


I Don't believe the sad closure of two of Gloucester's best known pubs - and probably others to follow - is due simply to the anti- smoking legislation or the price of a pint.

Much of the pub trade's ills are down to massive changes in society. As I've said before, there was a time when people went to the pub to meet up with their friends and neighbours to chat over a couple of pints, perhaps indulging in a pub game or two before wending their way home.
