BROCKWORTH-BASED social housing and maintenance supplier, the Mears Group, has taken on ten local authority contracts across the UK following the collapse of rival firm Connaughts earlier this month and saved hundreds of jobs.
The acquisition will see Mears become what is believed to be the largest social housing maintenance provider in the UK, and safeguards the jobs of at least 600 ex-Connaught employees.
