Summary
SKILLS could be gained at Newent's first Know How Show, being organised later this month. People from Newent and the Forest of Dean are being invited to the show to get new skills on everyday handywork. Nikki Starkie, from one of the organisers, Fair Shares, said: "This event has been designed to give people the chance to roll up their sleeves and have a go at doing something different. "Many of our trades and skills are being lost and this event will give people the chance to see if they have untapped talents that they could be using both for themselves or for helping other and a chance for children and young people to have a go at trying out new skills. "It is also aimed at demonstrating the wide range of volunteering opportunities that are out there.
"All of our demonstrations are being run by Fair Shares volunteers who are using their skills on a regular basis to support our community." Organisations including Citizen's Advice Bureau, Fire Service, St John Ambulance, Trading Standards, and Newent Rotary Club will be there offering advice.See the full content of this document
