Summary
There was the usual buzz of excitement at this first concert of the 2008 Cheltenham Music Festival, the usual full house and the usual interesting programme. Unfortunately, apparently for health and safety reasons, the expanded orchestra could not fit on the stage, and so for many the view of the players was severely restricted.
In row K I counted just 12 heads (including parts of heads) that I could see. From further back in the hall the view must have been minimal. That said, this was an arresting concert of contrasting works.See the full content of this document
