GEORGE Osbourne announced the Government's "First Buy Scheme" which has been designed to help around 10,000 first-time buyers of new-build properties and will be funded by the Department of Communities and Local Government and the house builders themselves. Helen Harrison, head of residential property at Cheltenham-based solicitors Rickerbys said: "This is good news for first-time buyers and good news for the property market as a whole.
"In order to take advantage of the new scheme, first time buyers will have to put down a five per cent deposit while the Government and house builder will both put in 10 per cent in the form of a low cost loan, resulting in a 25 per cent deposit."See the full content of this document
