LAST week, I received a letter from the office of the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government telling me that he had rejected the appeal by Robert Hitchins to build 1,750 houses to the West of Innsworth Lane and North of the A40.

I was very pleased by this announcement because I and many others had been campaigning against this application and subsequent appeal.
