West End Dream Comes True for Rising Star Emily

Summary

A TALENTED dancer's dreams have come true with her clinching a place on the West End stage. Emily Whitehead, 25, is now appearing in the hit musical We Will Rock You, in London's Dominion Theatre. The Abbeymead girl, who started dancing, aged six, at Abbeydale Community Centre, went to Heron Primary School then Ribston Hall before she gained a place with the Royal Ballet School, at White Lodge, Richmond Park when she was just 13. But despite having toured the world on cruise ships, appearing on stage a number of times, and working as one of the dancers on TV show Grease is the Word, Emily said it was only now that her dream was coming true. After leaving the Royal Ballet School aged 16, Emily joined Laine Theatre Arts, in Epsom, and realised she wanted to be in the West End. She said: "The cast are phenomenal. They're a lovely company to work for. "Just being on the West End stage has been a dream for so long. "I still have to pinch myself every day.

" She auditioned for a part on We Will Rock You for a couple of years before getting a part in the ensemble.
