THE Citizen will always seek to support the cause of young people at a time when there are plenty of voices which would seek to demean their efforts.
We were privileged at the weekend to see our young people celebrate 150 years of the Cadet movement in Gloucestershire. Hard to believe, but there are actually 2, 228 registered Cadets from all the services in our county in what must be the best youth club you can find. They are backed up by 448 adults so vital for their training, supervision and organisation. Plus all the mums and dads, of course, without whose great support these young people would not be able to fully participate in the movement. These Cadets are great young people. They are not bored on street corners. They are having fun and at the same time improving their prospects for the world of work and increasing the reputation of their schools and units.See the full content of this document
