Summary
Elliot Hill: Yet more disappointment away from home. It all went wrong 10 minutes before half-time when we leaked points for fun just like at the Millennium Stadium last year. The players from last year were resigned to it being a shambles from that point. Nicky Robinson and Eliota Fuimanono-Sapolu showed some fight, setting up breaks in the second half. I cannot condone what Delve did but nice to see the skipper with passion - shame it couldn't be shown in a more positive performance. Key players like Delve and Morgan didn't show up, Robinson didn't reach the heights of last week and Lamb didn't have best of games but got man-of-the-match. All he did was kick his points and pass to their excellent backs. We couldn't get any territory to get a foothold so it was the same old away day blues.
Steve Lydon: After the euphoria of last week, we are back down to earth with a bump. Up front was the issue where we got a pasting in the scrums. We only had two ball in the line-out. You have to have off the top four ball if you want to get the backs going. They looked offside but you can only play what's out there. They dominated the breakdown. We were lucky not to be losing by more at half-time. On the positive, at least we stuck at it. Scott Lawson kept plugging away all day. And we won the fight at the end. But not many will come to Irish and win. If there was a good time to have a bad day at the office, this was it.See the full content of this document
