ARTISTS came together to hear a stout defence of contemporary crafts at the launch of the Stroud International Textile Festival. VIP guest Sir Christopher Frayling, former chairman of the Arts Council and trustee of the Victoria and Albert Museum, highlighted the town's historic place at the centre of art and crafts.
