Take Time to Eat Hospital Dinners
Staff at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust have been going the extra mile to provide better care for elderly patients. Since Age Concern launched their new national campaign, Hungry To Be Heard, staff at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital have put new measures in place to provide better food for patients.

A 19-year-old Stroud man allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old boy. David Gibbs of Bushey Beeches, The Camp, Stroud has denied assaulting the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at Stratford Park in July.

Council Frustrates Our Green Efforts
After taking part in a community clean-up with two other residents in Ducie Street to clear the road and footpaths of fallen leaves which were causing a possible accident hazard, we put the leaves into our green garden waste bins ready for collection on the due date. With reference to your comment column in Tuesday's Citizen, if the Equal Opportunities Act had been worded correctly our police would still be able to calm situations simply by their presence. Under the present Act, there cannot be a height and physical requirement for the force and, even if that was restored, their ability to restore order would be limited because of the Human Rights Act.
How many more hiccups? Once again we have the Government heading from the ridiculous to the insane.
Woman Warned of Jail for 'Lack of Co-Operation'
A Woman who smashed a bottle over her boyfriend's head because she thought he was chatting up another woman has been remanded in custody at Gloucester Crown Court. Jasmine Clutterbuck, 24, formerly of Mathews Way, Stroud, was not legally represented at this week's hearing and Judge Jamie Tabor QC said he was reluctant to jail her without someone to speak for her.

A Quick-thinking Gloucester teacher was taken to hospital after putting out a fire which threatened to destroy his mother's house. A candle set light to curtains in the first-floor bedroom of the terraced house in Clement Street at around 4pm on Tuesday afternoon.
